Finding Where You Use Plastic
The first thing you need to do to reduce your plastic use is to mark down the areas in your daily life where
you use plastic. Did you use plastic when getting your groceries? Did you use plastic to seal your food? Or
did you use plastic to carry a drink? Start thinking about your daily intake of plastic and find alternatives
that you can use to reduce your plastic use.
Using Alternatives to Plastic
There are many ways to reduce your daily plastic waste: using reuseable bags instead of plastic ones,
replacing plastic straws with reuseable/compostable ones, using reusable water bottles or resuable "plastic"
wrap, etc. We use plastic daily and there are so many eco friendly alternatives we can use.
Recycling and Picking Up Trash
If you see a non-reusable plastic on a sidewalk, pick it up and throw it away. Our oceans are filled with tons
of plastic every single day. The marine life living within these oceans are consuming the plastics and/or
getting trapped in it. Recently, plastic has been found in our seafood, poultry, and meats. We need to start
picking up trash and properly recycling to improve our envronment.
